About us!
Guile’s Reptiles started in 2015, a few years after Jake got Sass. We are a family-run business, all extremely passionate about animals, and many of the animals in our care have been rescued. We work closely with the RSPCA and have taken in the majority of our animals through rescue or rehoming. Guile’s Reptiles is not limited to reptiles—we also care for amphibians, invertebrates, and mammals. Our animal family currently includes around 30 wonderful members. Our aim is to inspire and educate people of all ages about these lovely creatures. We love helping people face their fears and break negative stigmas around animals such as tarantulas and snakes.

Jake Guile – Owner

Hi, I’m Jake and I’m the owner here at Guile’s reptiles. I’ve been around animals all my life thanks to my parents and studied many different animal based courses thought-out college such as animal care (level 1,2,2.5), agriculture (level 2), dog grooming (level 2) and an animal first aid course! I’ve volunteered a lot at Paradise pets in Shoreham-By-Sea, Squires Garden centre (pet section) and most recently at RSPCA in Brighton.
A majority of my animals are rehomed from the RSPCA to give them the chance at a better life. During college I fell In love with reptiles and that alongside with getting Sass, who was my first reptile/snake, I decided to start this up! I also loved teaching and showing my family about animals and that inspired the start too.
I’m lucky to have help from my parents, Karen and Kurt and all my family and friends

Brooke Watts

Brooke has been helping out here for over 5 years now. She has always loved working with animals and working here has allowed her to experience new things with the reptiles such as health checks. She is starting her veterinary nursing degree next September at Plumpton college and her favourite animal is Willow (our woma python). Brooke has gained a lot of knowledge from working here and she is grateful for all the fun memories she has made.

Karen+Kurt Guile
Karen and Kurt are my parents! They have been so supportive over these years and I’m very grateful to have parents like them.
Karen grew up around animals and got me into animals at a young age.
Her favourite animal are the Twiglets!
Kurt regularly helps me out at shows. He deals with Puppy at a lot of our events, and he loves to educate children and adults alike about these animals. His favourite animal is Puppy!

tallulah cunliffe
Tallulah has been helping out here for almost 2 years now. She has always loved working with animals, and her time here has allowed her to gain new experiences, especially learning more about reptiles. Her favourite animal is Maisie who is our crested gecko. In the future, Tallulah hopes to work in wildlife conservation, and she is excited to continue expanding her knowledge and skills, particularly with reptiles. She is grateful for everything she has learned so far and looks forward to all the experiences still to come.
